Our leadership team has worked with industry professionals to develop
and present this customized Leadership Program. These six one-day
action-packed workshops present key business skills, knowledge and
the leadership attributes needed to help you confidently fill your
role in helping your organization reach and exceed its goals and
objectives. Each session has take-home activities that are debriefed
at the next session to further enhance transfer of learning into
your own work environment.
All classes are action-packed with individual and group exercises
designed to educate managers about the hardest job they tell us
they will ever have - leading, coaching and inspiring others. Throughout
each session, time is devoted to learning and applying the concepts
to your individual situation.
Course
Description
Today,
leaders must demonstrate significantly higher levels of business
and economic literacy – they must be conversant about all
facets of the business and how these facets are interrelated. In
addition, leaders must demonstrate unprecedented levels of personal
toughness and resiliency. They have to continually get better at
managing stress, ambiguity and change.
Compounding
this challenging business scenario are the skills necessary to manage
and lead employees. Loyalty is no longer a given and recruiting
and retaining appropriate talent is one of the biggest challenges
leaders face.
Business
leaders today must inspire and excite their people through stimulating
work to accomplish group or organizational goals. Leaders must give
people the opportunity to change and grow within the organization
at the same time creating buy-in by others about the value of that
change. If not, the staff will take their skills and talents elsewhere.
Twenty years ago people management skills were not critical. Now
in order to be successful, leaders must master these interpersonal
skills and master them well.
In
these sessions we will explore how leadership is a function of the
traits and abilities of the leader, of the situations faced and
the behavior and reactions of the people being led. We will investigate
topics of transformational versus transactional leadership, power
and influence, effective communication, motivation and coaching,
leading through change and developing a strong team structure.
In
addition, the class will involve introspection for each participant.
A good leader knows himself/herself. Good leaders are authentic
in their actions and true to their values. These sessions invite
participants to think about their own values and how they interact
with others. Participants will explore their leadership strengths
and areas needing improvement. They will be exposed to new ideas
and to new ways of thinking about old ideas. The experiential exercises
and practice sessions give each participant an opportunity to internalize
these concepts to individual situations. The facilitators are available
for coaching and for discussions of best practices both during and
post session.
