Creating
a Shared Vision [2-3 days] |
|
Building
and retaining an enabled and skilled workforce is one of today's most
challenging business issues. Employees seek out workplaces that have
a firm vision in place that provides for on-going growth and development.
Using a representative sample of employees from all levels of the
organization, participants will draft the organization's mission and
vision statements as well as its principles and values. These drafts
will be shared with other organizational members for further suggestions
before completion. This activity involves some pre- and post-activity
work. |

Effective
Supervisory Practices (ESP) [3 Days] |
|
Yes,
it does take ESP to know how to plan performance, coach employees
to success, give constructive and descriptive feedback and use discipline
as a positive tool, rather than punishment. However, effective supervision
does require basic skills in effective communication and using the
performance management process. This course uses a Coaching Model
to identify and correct performance and behavioral problems that negatively
impact productivity. Also, using skill-practices, participants learn
how to better plan employee discussions that yield positive and constructive
results. |

Stepping Up to Supervision [1 day] |
|
So,
you want to be a supervisor, great! But, how do you go from being
"one of the guys/gals" to being the supervisor of your friends?
This course introduces participants to the demands of effective supervision
and the necessary skills to be successful from day one. It is not
just about technical skill and knowledge (hard skills), effective
supervision is about planning, working, coaching and giving constructive
feedback, appraising performance and how to use the disciplinary process
when needed (soft skills). Supervision is not as "easy"
as some might think. Be educated and skilled, not blind-sided when
you move from being one of the gang to the "leader of the gang."
